Getech are delighted to announce they have been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, cementing our commitment to online security and protection for our customers.
Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed and industry-supported scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber-attacks. The certification is designed to provide a statement of the controls an organisation should have in place to mitigate the risk from common cyber threats.
According to the Department for digital, culture, media and sport (CDMS), in the last 12 months, 39% of UK businesses identified a cyber-attack, with 83% of these businesses reporting phishing attempts, and 26% identifying a more sophisticated attack type such as a denial of service, malware or ransomware attack.
Whilst these numbers are staggeringly high, only 8% of all UK businesses have attained a Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
Guy Watts, Getech MD added:
“This is a huge achievement for a company like Getech to have achieved Cyber Essentials Plus. As we grow our customer base across both public and private sector clients, it’s essential we have the robust security measures that surpass the expectations of our customers and users.”
This is the result of an outstanding level of effort from our IT Manager, Michael Peck, who prepared for and got us through the accreditation and is testimony to how diligently and professionally he takes his role ”
